Central Michigan:

It’s been a long time since CMU stood atop the MAC, but while the Chips have not been a force in the conference they have shown that they have the best “floor” of any team in the Mid American.

The Chips have just two losing seasons in the past 13 years. That is unless you count 2016 when they finished 6-6 and lost a bowl game.

They have been overshadowed by Northern Illionis, Toledo, and Western Michigan over the past 8 years... But the Chips just keep going to bowls and are probably the most consistent winner in the MAC over the past decade.

Series History

Buffalo and Central Michigan have met seven times since UB joind the Mid American Conference. UB’s sole win came in 2004.

UB, as a team, put up 223 yards and held the Chips to 56 in a 36-6 drubbing.

The last time the teams met in 2015 CMU demolished the Bulls, 51-14. In the three mettings before that CMU won by 6, 7, and 2 points.

This Years Matchup

The Chips lost a lot of skill positions this year but they retained running back Johnathan Ward. Ward was the key to a late season surge that get CMU to eight wins. Stopping him is going to be an immense challenge for the defense.

On the other side of the Ball CMU may have lost the key to their bend but don’t break defense. Behind a very good secondary the Chips were able to do a fantastic job limiting big plays.

But this year they have to replace both Safties, so it could be a big day for Jackson to Johnson.
