Well the first big coaching negation of Mark Alnutt’s tenure is out of the way.
UB has retained the services of women’s head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. The University at Buffalo’s department of athletics inked their 6th year coach to a new five-year contract. The contract runs through the 2023 season.
Coach Jack has been building up the UB program since she took over in 2012. The Bulls where then regularly in the bottom half of the conference. But the team showed steady and consistent improvement over her first three years, including an at-large NIT back in 2014-2015.
Since that season UB has won two MAC championship tournaments.
Last season Legette-Jack led the Bulls to 29 wins, a division title, and an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. UB beat two top 25 teams to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time.
This is a huge extension get for Alnutt, leaving coach Jack without an extension was, perhaps, Allen Green’s most prominent loose end.
