The Battle for Main Street

NCAA Basketball: Buffalo at Marquette Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

UB Looks to bounce back from their first loss of the season, and they look to do it close to home... But not quite at home.

UB Will travel a few miles down Main street to take on the Canisius Golden Griffs and their head coach Reggie Witherspoon.

Witherspoon is 1-1 agsinst the Bulls since taking over at Canisius, in his first season he and the Griffs upset the heavily favored Bulls at the “Big Four Classic”. Oats got his revenge in a season opener last year.

Tonight the Bulls have two key players they need to lock down against the Griffs.

Sophomore Takal Molson is averaging 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He sniffed around the NBA draft last season but elected to come back.

In addition to Molson the Bulls can’t ignore Isaiah Reese. He’s been spotty this season but Reese might be the best player in Reggie Witherspoon’s arsenal. Reese was named the Preseason MAAC Player of the Year.

He’s struggled this year but if he breaks out and finds his groove he could be a force to be reckoned with.

The Bulls are at the point in their schedule where they not only have to win games, but win them big to stay ranked. Look for UB to push the pace in an attempt to blow the Griffs out of the building.
