Pro Football Focus is a goto website for stat wonks who want to analyze the National Football League (NFL) and NCAA Division-I football in the United States. Beyond posting the standard NFL statistics for evaluating players, PFF produces numerical grades for teams and players by watching and grading every player on every play.
This is what makes their end of season award teams pretty telling. It’s boiled down to the numbers.
The site listed Anthony Johnson as one of their first team All-Americans. They based their award on Johnson’s ranking as eighth in the nation with 3.47 yards per route and his 579 yards on deep (20-plus yard) passes, which ranked third in the nation.

Expect Johnson to be on a lot of lists next preseason. If he puts up a 2018 to match this past season he will be a day one draft pick and should be a semifinalist for some post season honors.
