The only surprise to me in this news was that it didn’t happen before the beginning of the season.
Boise Ross is changing his number to 41 for the remainder of the season to honor late teammate Solomon Jackson. #All41 @UBFootball

Ross, a senior defensive back fully capable of playing his way onto an All-MAC and NFL team, is the no-brainer choice to claim 41 this season in honor of Jackson after the sophomore defensive end passed away February 28th.
For different reasons, other teams here and there across college sports have memorial numbers that change hands to one senior a year. I would like to see something similar develop with UB Football and Jackson’s 41.
