Buffalo Bulls Defensive End Solomon Jackson Dies In Hospital After Practice Incident

Update - Please consider donating to the Solomon Jackson Go Fund Me to help defer the families medical expenses and perhaps set up a scholarship in his name

Solomon Jackson, a UB sophomore defensive end, passed away last night at Buffalo General Hospital after a medical emergency at practice last week.

Jackson came to Buffalo from Stone Mountain, Georgia. His junior year he helped lead the team to a 15-0 record and a state championship. Jackson was seen as a leader by his teammates and was a team captain

A week ago Monday, Jackson was taking part in a team conditioning session. At some point during the session, Solomon experienced a "medical emergency" and was taken via ambulance to Buffalo General. At the time UB released this statement:

"Our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies go out to Solomon’s family as together we mourn his tragic and untimely death" -- UB Athletics Director C. Allen Greene

Please keep Jackson's family in your prayers; think of them first and foremost. Respect their privacy and their wishes during this time for they have lost a child, something few really can fully understand.

We will publish the details for any public memorial services as they are announced.
