Buffalo Bulls and Xavier Musketeers will play in 2016-2017

It's been reported that the Buffalo Bulls will be making a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio for a date with the Xavier Musketeers next season. The tweet came from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

It will be the first time the Bulls andMusketeers have ever played eachother.

Led by seventh-year head coach Chris Mack Xavier finished last season with a 28–6 record and a 14–4 mark in the Big East The Musketeers were given an at-large bid and a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament after falling to Seton Hall in the semi-finals of the Big ETournamentaent.

Xavier defeated Weber State in the first round to advance to the second round where they lost a heart breaker to Wisconsin. In the final 2016 coaches poll, Xavier was ranked 11th.

The Musketeers are losing Seniors Remy Abell and James Farr. Two other players, Trevon Bluiett and Jalen Reynolds have declared for the NBA draft but may still return next season.

After a coaching change, transfers, and graduation left UB with few returning players first-year coach Nate Oats put together a squad that finished the season 20–15, with a 10–8 mark in MAC play. During the Mid-American Conference tournament,  UB defeated Miami (OH), Ohio, and Akron to earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, their second consecutive appearance in the tournament.

The Bulls are returning most of their roster, losing Jarryn Skeete and Rodell Wigginton to graduation.

The game is currently scheduled for Saturday, November 26th.
