Buffalo Bulls Baseball Senior Salutes - Ben Hartz

Action around the MAC this past weekend eliminated UB from the post-season. These weekend's games against Bowling green will be the last for four UB seniors.

Hartz's freshman year was one of the best by a UB pitcher in the program's history. Over 18 appearances and 40.1 innings pitched, Hartz earned six wins and a save while holding opponents to a .236 batting average against him. His 2.01 ERA for the season was the eighth lowest in the all-time history of the program. He followed that up with a Sophomore campaign that included two starts and action in 11 games.

After his Sophomore year, Hartz became UB's main middle reliever, appearing in 23 games

His name appears several times in the UB record books. Taking the mound 60 times for UB puts him at 6th all-time, just ahead of Current Tampa Bay Devil Rays reliever Steve Geltz. His six career saves is tied for 5th along with Bill Casbolt.
