JUCO SG Blake Hamilton (Mt. San Antonio College) commits to Buffalo, Nate Oats

UB Athletics

This will be a blurb of a post, but I don't see it on the site yet, and I don't really care that it's 11:33 PM. With a flurry of commitments over the last few days, Nate Oats has once again gotten the Bulls back up to 13 scholarships, this evening apparently rounding out the 2014-15 team with JUCO shooting guard Blake Hamilton from Mt. San Antonio College.

We've talked in the past how Bobby Hurley used transfers to quickly overhaul the team and maintain (medium term) or build (short term) depending on your perspective MAC success in Buffalo. Normally an infusion of transfers and JUCO talent affects only a small window before homegrown recruits take hold, but this turbulent offseason has forced Oats to either commit to a rebuild or go to the JUCO well again.

Hamilton will join David Kadiri, Willie Connor III, and Torian Graham in UB's transfer-infused junior class this coming season following two years as a swingman at Mt. San Antonio College. The Pasadena native averaged 13.5 points and 6.4 rebounds a game - both good for second on the team - for the Mounties.

Mt. SAC's season ended in the California Community College semifinal, but the Mounties did go 27-2 on the season. Hamilton had originally committed to and saw a season at Northern Arizona after averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds a game during his senior year for the Pasadena Bulldogs.

Welcome to Buffalo, Blake, and Go Bulls
