Buffalo Bulls lose Maurice O'Field to Bobby Hurley and Arizona State

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

For the second time in as many weeks Bobby Hurley has raided his former team and their recruits. Last week was the saga of Shannon Evans. The UB Sophomore transferred to Arizona State after an eventful week on twitter and in the pages of the Buffalo Media.

This time Hurley has lifted Maurice O'Field who was slated to be a JUCO transfer to Buffalo from Midland College. The 6-foot-6 small forward from Midland College (Texas) is now the the third commit to join ASU from the class of 2015 since new coach Bobby Hurley was hired last month and will join Shannon Evans, a sophomore Point Guard at Buffalo who is transferring.

O'Field was a very highly sought after recruit and seemed to be a feather in the cap for Bobby Hurley's team at Buffalo. At Midland he averaged 15.8 points and five rebounds per game last season. He is eligible to play immediately for the Sun Devils.

Perhaps in anticipation of the move Nate Oats recruited Willie Conner, a 6-5 wing player, who hails from Chicago, IL, averaged 16.7 points per game for Odessa as he shot 51.7% from the field and 42.7% from three point range.
