Naaman Roosevelt returns to the Bills days after being waived by the Lions. It's his second stint with Buffalo but he may have long odds to make the 54 man roster this season.
Here are the takes from Buffalo Rumblings and our own piece.
Naaman Roosevelt signing highlights Buffalo Bills roster tinkering - Buffalo Rumblings
Roosevelt, of course, is a name that is familiar for Buffalo natives and Bills fans alike. Signed as an undrafted free agent out of UB prior to the 2010 season, Roosevelt was a practice squad stash twice with the Bills, but eventually made 16 in-game appearances for the Bills in his first two seasons in the league. He caught 25 passes for 396 yards and this 60-yard touchdown in 2011 in that time frame.
Naaman Roosevelt Signed by the Buffalo Bills - Bull Run
Naaman Roosevelt will be joining the Buffalo Bills in this seasons summer camp just days after being released by the Detroit Lions. This may allow Naaman to add to the 16 career games with the Bills. He was active on the Bills rosterduring the 2010 and 2011 seasons. The highlight of his Buffalo stint was a 60 yard touchdown reception from Ryan Fitzpatrick at MetLife Stadium against the New York Giants.
Also making a little news at the Bills Camp was Derek Brim. The rookie had a nice interception yesterday: coming down with the ball in a hard collision that sent a fellow DB to the sideline.
Day Two: Injury updates, highlights and the first fight of camp - BN Blitz - The Buffalo News
Cornerback Brandon Smith suffered a leg contusion after colliding with safety Derek Brim on a play over the middle. Brim, the University at Buffalo product, held on for an interception on the play.
Is Branden Oliver on the Bubble in San Diego? This site seems to think so.
Chargers Training Camp Preview: Running Backs Position
ON THE BUBBLE: Kerwynn Williams, Branden Oliver, Zach Boren. I am not sure who the Chargers would keep in this group.
Oliver's teammate, Alex Neutz was waived by the Bengals early yesterday.
Bengals Waive Alex Neutz - Bull Run
Just as Alex Neutz was preparing to enter his first NFL training camp when the Bengals hit the field for the first time this Thurdsday at Paul Brown Stadium, he was placed on waivers by the team yesterday afternoon. Neutz, a holder of several UB receiving records, can be claimed off waivers by any NFL team until later this afternoon. If he goes unclaimed when the 24-hour period expires he then becomes a free agent and is free to sign with any team.
Josh Thomas might also be on the Bubble in Carolina. He has been good enough to start but some consistency issues over the years have a few fans asking.
Personally I don't see him not making the 54 man roster and he has decent shot at being a starter in at least some games this season.
55 Questions Heading Into Panthers Training Camp - BBR
Will Josh Thomas and/or James Dockery make a case to hang around another season?
In Tampa Means is another guy who should make the team and is, at this point, fighting for playing time.
Countdown to Tampa Bay Buccaneers camp: Defensive line - ESPN
Clayborn isn’t guaranteed a starting job. William Gholston showed lots of promise last season and should at least earn rotational playing time. Steven Means also has some upside. Akeem Spence started last year as a rookie, but he’s likely to be the top backup to McDonald this year.
Finally Khalil Mack got his due from EA sports. We all know he wore 46 at UB because that's what EA thought of him in their 2010 edition of NCAA football now they gave him an 81 for his rookie year, 3rd best among rookies.
