Losing a game by a single run is frustrating, losing three straight is downright painful. Last weeks series against Miami cost the Bulls a shot at the MAC East title but the success the team had earlier this season acted as a buffer to to UB seeded at #6 in the current field of eight MAC Championship Tournament bound teams.

If UB holds on it would be their third straight appearance in the MAC tournament. That would be a remarkable feat for a team which is generally underfunded and who exists mainly to satisfy the MAC's requirement for baseball.
Buffalo Baseball, at one time a doormat in the MAC knocked two teams out of the 2012 MAC Championship's, finished a half game behind Kent last year for the MAC East pennant, and this season are just one win, or a Toledo loss away from punching their ticket to another post season.
In his seventh year Buffalo coach Ron Torgalski has hit his stride and the Bulls are relevant. They are getting more local media attention than in years past and have alumni working their way up the farm systems of Major League teams.
Right now however the task for Buffalo is to focus on the defending conference champion. Bowling Green comes in to the final weekend a game ahead of Buffalo.
The three game series between the two is probably just for seeding purposes. Toledo can not pass Bowling Green and Buffalo needs only a win or a loss by Toledo, NIU, or Akron to secure their spot.
Last year Bowling Green came into the tournament as the #6 seed and worked their way to the championship game where they beat the then #4 seeded Ball State Cardinals. This season Ball State is leading the MAC and are just a win or CMU loss away from clinching the #1 seed. Similarly the Chips only need a win to secure the number two seed.
Miami, fresh off of sweeping the Bulls has a game lead on Kent while Bowling Green and Buffalo are, for all intents and purposes, out of the East race.
It's senior weekend so if you get a chance drop by the game and cheer for UB's seniors!
