Per the NFL wire, The Lions signed center Sherman Carter and UB's great wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt on Friday, according to the NFL’s transactions.
According to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com, Carter and Roosevelt tried out for the Lions during the club’s voluntary workouts this week.
The 26-year-old Roosevelt appeared in 16 regular season games for Buffalo from 2010 through 2011, hauling in 25 passes for 396 yards and a touchdown. He spent the 2013 preseason with the Browns, appearing in two games. The Browns waived him on August 31.
Here is some interesting numbers from Conrad from BullRun.com
Naaman here 2 years, 2010-11 undrafted 16 games - 25 recs, 396 yds 1 TD Cut in 2012.
TJ Graham drafted 3rd round (before Russell Wilson) in 2012, here for 2 years, 31 games - 54 recs, 683 yards, 3 TDs.
Naaman: 24.75 yds/game, 15.84 yds/catch, 4% of recs were TDs
Graham: 22.03 yds/game, 12.65 yds/catch, 5.5% of recs were TDs.
I don't know about you, but in hindsight, I'd rather have Naaman and Russell Wilson.I sure hope that Namaan sticks. Good luck Namaan and would love to see you in a Lions uniform against the Bills.
The #Lions have signed C Sherman Carter and WR Naaman Roosevelt, two tryout players who were at minicamp practice this week.
