So last week the weather deiced that Buffalo Baseball needed one more week of slumber before kicking off 2014. THe Bulls are hoping that this week the forces of nature will relent and allow the Spartan Classic to take place in Norfolk Virginia.
The Bulls will play a four team round robin tournament with Norfolk State, Villinova, and Quinnipiac.
Date | Opponent | Time |
---|---|---|
Fri. 21 | Norfolk St | 11:00 AM |
Sat. 22 | Villanova | 11:00 AM |
Sun. 23 | Quinnipiac | 10:00 AM |
It's not a power lineup but for a Buffalo team that has not yet thrown a pitch this season this could be a great way to shake the rust off and see how the team deals with the loss of McWilliams and Jason Kanzler.
UB will open up against the Spartan Classic's host, Norfolk State. Last week Norfolk lost all three of their opening season games as they opened up with the "Furman First Pitch Invitational".
After dropping s 5-2 decision for Furman the Spartans took Xavier to 13 innings before falling 6-5.They rounded out the weekend by getting shelled 11-3 against fellow Mid American Conference team Toledo.
Buffalo's second game will come against Villinova. Last week the Wildcats were swept on a road series against Charleston Southern (2-0, 2-1, 8-4)
The Bulls will wrap up the weekend by facing the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Quinnipiac University, like the Bulls, will be opening their season this weekend.
