Buffalo Bulls Coaching Search: Is Lance Leipold the New UB Head Coach?

Lance Leipold is the coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (Division III). In 8 years as the head coach he has compiled a 106-6 record and won 5 National Championships. UW-W is 12-0 this year with a playoff game on December 6th.

UB Connection: Leipold coached with Turner Gill at Nebraska between 2001 and 2003.

He has head coaching experience and winning experience, as a UB official told The Spectrum of the then-unnamed hire, but that is at the D-3 level.

Earlier today we found a tweet, since deleted, from a woman named Elissa Cheesman celebrated her uncle's hiring as UB Head Coach tomorrow. Leipold's wife's maiden name is Cheesman.
