A little more than a year ago Joshua Freelove transferred from Alabama State to the Buffalo Bulls. Because of APR issues at Alabama State he did not have to sit out for a year after the transfer.
The North Lauderdale, FL native was brought in by Coach Hurley Freelove was a key component of UB's run to a MAC East Title, the teams first outright division title. The guard was named an All-MAC Honorable Mention selection. He finished second on the team in scoring at 13.5 points per game.
Freelove lad the Bulls in three-point shooting at 41.1%. He ended the year scoring in double figures in nine of the final 10 games.
This past August Freelove signed with the Guerreros de Bogota, the defending champions of the Liga Directv de Baloncesto. The league, formed in 1988, is the professional basketball federation in Colombia and Bogota. This month He saw action in six games, scoring an average of 12.7 points in those contest.
His short career with Guerreros de Bogota is over now that Freelove was taken in in the fifth round by the Maine Red Claws, the D league affiliated with the Boston Celtics. His first game with Maine will be played on the Friday the 14th at Oklahoma City.
