Ron English beware, Jeff Quinn may be the grim reaper of struggling coaches.
Last season Jeff Quinn effectively ended Bill Cubit's tenure at western Michigan when his Bronco's were soundly beaten by the Buffalo Bulls. The year before, 2011, Rob Ianello let the Bulls drop more than 50 on him and was sacked right after the season.
Coincidence? Maybe. But I call it fate! And Quinn is only getting better at snuffing out a coach when nobody is looking. His most recent victim was Paul Pasqualoni of Connecticut, he did not make it a week once "The Mighty Quinn" was finished with him.
Pasqualoni's Huskies were destroyed by Quinn this weekend and Jeff Quinn's former boss, Warde Manuel, dismissed the third year coach this morning.
Paul Pasqualoni fired as UConn football coach, according to report - SBNation.com
UConn has fired head football coach Paul Pasqualoni after Week 5, according to Huskies beat writer Desmond Conner. This follows an 0-4 start that's included losses to the MAC's Buffalo and the FCS' Towson, all after two straight 5-7 seasons without bowl trips. According to ESPN's Brett McMurphy, UConn will name an interim at 4 p.m. ET.
Now I'm not saying that Lane Kiffin was fired by USC just to prevent the possibility that UB might some day play and beat the Trojans but our own Conrad "Bull Trojan" Mostiller makes the Buffalo to USC connection likely enough that Pat Haden had to act.
It's interesting to note that offensive line coach George Deleone was also let go. That means UConn might be looking for a head coach with a lot of offensive line experience. Hmmmmmmmm Who's doing the Hiring..
