NFL Preseason Updates - Buffalo

There are five former Bulls playing in the NFL, How are they doing?

The NFL is now in full preseason mode and the Bulls Alumni in the league are trying to make their mark. The game of note for UB fans featured Buffalo's own James Starks. Starks got the start for Green bay when they took on Arizona.

The all time UB rushing leader has had trouble staying healthy in Green Bay. When he is not impaired by injury the Buffalo native has looked every bit the NFL talent he did during his rookie year when he helped the Packers win the Super Bowl.

ACME Packing Company, SB Nation's Green Bay site, had a nice feature on how Starks can overcome his history of injuries.

If James Starks is going to be the odd man out at running back, it would appear he has no intention of going quietly. Coming into this weekend, Starks was looked at by most as a bit of an afterthought, a perpetually broken-down steed among a stable of new thoroughbreds.

His work against Arizona was not mind blowing but 12 carries for 38 yards is ok for the first preseason game of the year.

The only real negative against Starks may have been failing to convert on a 4th and 2 from the 2 yard line. He nearly broke the plain but replay ruled that he came just short (despite the video showing Starks was clearly in)

If Starks can put in 10-20 carries a game throughout the preseason and come out with no injuries he should have another season with the Packers.
