Thanks to the Basketball Standings equivalent of a three lane throughway pile up UB finds them selves tied for fourth in the conference. Fortunately that includes getting a road loss to undefeated Ohio out of the way. Unfortunately it does not include a game against Akron, a team UB has to go on the road to play today.
What would a win mean for Buffalo?
It would help separate UB from the mass of 2-3 teams by giving the Bulls a quality road win against one of the two best teams in the conference.
What would a loss mean for Akron?
If the Zips lose this game it might be the one they look back on in March as the game that costs them the NIT if they don't win the regular season title and there is an upset in Cleveland.
The Bulls can compete if the following happens
Javon McCrea: Needs to have a Javon McCrea like night. 30 Points is no necessary but close to or over 20 with about ten rebounds is going to have to happen. He needs to be a big enough threat to free up...
Will Regan: Regan also should be in the teens in points and be somewhat reliable from distance. He will be helped if we can find ....
ANYONE: Is effective at moving the Ball around and if
EVERYONE: Is careful with it.
Buffalo is rocking a sub 1 assist to turnover ratio. If they do that tonight Akron will eat Buffalo alive. The Bulls have the forward play to win this game but the guards need to step up.
Don't rely on threes!
We're not "that team" so unless someone opens up with a hot hand keep the threes rare and hopefully connect 30% of the time. A 1/8 start on threes with all those rebounds going to the Zips will put UB in a Big holw
