Jesse Back was one of Coach Jeff Quinn's first pulls as UB's head coach. The Massive senior caught Quinn's eye while he was still the offensive coordinator with Cincinnati. Back did not allow a sack in his senior year and helped carry La Salle to a league title.
Back was named to the the All-TriStateFootball.com First-Team and to the All Greater Catholic squad. He was also named one of the area's top players to watch at the next level by the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Back spent last season learning the system and putting on nearly 20 pounds of mass. The red shirt freshman came out of Buffalo's spring camp sharing backup left guard duties with Robert Blogdett.
