October 20, 2012 - Buffalo 6 - Pittsburgh 20 - Devin Campbell becomes first running back in UB's FBS era to run for 100-yards twice in his true freshman season.
Campbell ran for 160 yards and a touchdown in a breakout game against Ohio but he struggled, gaining only 36 yards on 22 carries. This left UB nation pondering a few questions about our run game: Which Campbell would show up against Pitt? Would it matter? Would BO return?
BO dressed, but did not play, but he was not needed. Campbell's play was more Ohio and less NIU. Campbell ran 19 times for 104 yards for his second 100-yard game in three outings. Devin became the first true freshman to run for 100-yards twice in a year.

Buffalo has always been a football program with a dominant running back. The future looks bright today, and for the next three years with Devin Campbell.
Note: There was no Week 6 Instant Classic. There were probably silver linings in our 45-3 loss, but I was not in the mood to find them.
