Now the Bills are really Cooking!

For the second straight year the Buffalo Bills quickly signed a former UB player as an undrafted free agent. Last season the Bills took Naaman Roosevelt in the minutes following the NFL draft. This season, due to the lockout, NFL teams had to wait until today to start trolling through those players who just missed getting drafted.

Domonic Cook, a UB Alumni and a Buffalo native got a call from Orchard park today with an invite to camp. He has the same hill to climb that teammate Naaman Roosevelt did last season.

I might just start caring about the Buffalo Bills again!

Cook spent three seasons as a cornerback before answering the call to become a safety this season. All he did  was play well enough to earn first-team all-Mid-American Conference honors. He ranked sixth in the country with six interceptions and forced three fumbles. He finished his career with 36 passes defended, third-most in UB history.

Cook is the second defensive back to make it into an NFL camp this season. His teammate, Josh Thomas, was drafted by the Cowboys. One more Bull, Davonte Shannon, is rumored to be on the radar of several schools with several sites tagging him as a top 75 undrafted free agent.
