Lest you think last weekend's slim 4-3 victory over Duquesne was a sign of UB Women's Tennis slowing down, look no further than today's result against JUCO power ASA College. After a 4-3 loss to the Avengers last year, Buffalo found no issue in sweeping to a 7-0 win Friday.
As in 2015, UB got out to a hot start, quickly taking the doubles point with 6-3 and 6-1 wins from Kotok/Agasieva and Stojanovska/Martinez-Blanco, respectively.
Improving on last season, the Bulls got a clean sweep from #1, 2, and 3 singles, a three-point swing in its own right, while also of course winning at #4, 5, and 6, as well. It's worth noting that ASA returned no one to this match from last year's team, which lost only a single set team-wide in winning a NJCAA national title last year.
That said, against any opponent six singles wins all in straight sets, with only one set closer than 6-4, is a solid showing.
