It’s not a win, but Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Northern Illinois is progress for UB Women’s Soccer, their first road result of the MAC season and only second of the year.
Laura Dougall made three saves in 110 minutes for the Bulls, who perhaps had the better of things throughout, but couldn’t find a goal, getting only four attempts on target despite a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Moira Petrie and Celina Carrero both picked up yellow cards, both in the second overtime. Petrie now has three on the year.
Alex Lambert off the bench saw 56 minutes of action, one of the longer days of her career at UB as Coach Burke used really only three subs — Lambert, Carley Zoccali, and Nicole Gerritz while rotating through his midfield options to last the distance of the two-overtime game. Julia Benati was once again absent for the Bulls.
UB is suddenly down to their final three matches of the regular season. Good news - they’re all at UB Stadium as the Bulls look to make a late push in the MAC standings.
