Buffalo Recruiting Roundup

Week 4 Recruiting Update

Welcome back to the recruiting roundup. Busier week than most, with some offers going out to recruits in the both 2022 and 2023 class. I touched on this in a tweet this week as well, but it has been very impressive to see this staff go out and be the first offer on recruits then in the coming weeks those same recruits pick up multiple P5 offers. This is similar to what you would hear about Lance and the previous staff, that they had great ability to identify talent, especially in the Northeast. What will be interesting to see is if this staff can convert some of these early offers, on recruits who end up receiving multiple P5 offers, into commitments.

Visit Recap: Last weekend 3 notable UB Recruits visited Jahleel Culbreath, Denzel Moore and Delaney Wilburn. Jahleel really enjoyed his visit and is looking forward to his OV. I am told his size checked out in person and the staff is excited about him. I have yet to hear anything about Denzel or Delaney’s visits.

2022 Update

New offers out to JUCO receiver Korey King and HS ATH Luke Martin. Korey King is a JUCO transfer by way of Tulsa. He got into some legal trouble at Tulsa that had him removed from the team but is looking to make it back into FBS football. His tape is electric, he is fast and has good ball skills. He is also utilized on a ton of jet sweeps. Luke Martin plays QB down in Texas but I imagine his offer is to play WR or TE (I have reached out to confirm this). He has good size 6’2 190 and has a lot of athleticism. He is featured as a run first QB in his HS offense. Another addition to the big board below is the Zy Ford a HS LB out of Mississippi. He is currently committed to LA Tech but he has told me his recruitment is still open and he wants to take an OV to Buffalo after the season, he is a name to watch for. The final name to addition to the big board is Nadame Tucker a JUCO edge from Hutchinson CC. This is another recruit to be offered who plays at Hutch, further extending the pipeline the staff is looking to create. Nadame attended Independence CC last year and enrolled at Hutch in August. He will graduate in December which means that means he would be able to be on campus in January and participate in springball. Nadame holds offers from Western Kentucky and Umass currently. He has great size at 6’3 240 and would be able to make an instant impact on the DL.

2023 Update:

For the 2023 class an offer was added that went out to Durell Robinson in June. He is an ATH from St Frances in Maryland. Former UB Bull Justin Winters is a coach at St Frances. In the class of 2022 we already have a commit from DT Cornell Evans who plays there as well. Durell attended the camp on campus during the summer. In the past few weeks he has picked up offers from BC, VT and Colorado. This will be a good test for this staff to see if their Maryland connection can land them a guy who is getting major P5 interest. Additionally I added an offer to Makhi Connor. Makhi is a DB from California but he is originally from Rochester NY. He was on campus this summer and is in communication with Coach Mo. He holds offers from ASU, Cal, Pitt, Ole Miss and USC. Another tough recruit to go after but the NY connection could lead him back home.
