In news that will shock nobody...
Former @UBFootball defensive coordinator Brian Borland will join @KU_Football in the same role. This could be the first of many Buffalo Football staff to join Kansas Football after Lance Leipold was hired as head coach. #KUfball https://t.co/D4NAilGkyR

Borlands defenses were hallmarked by solid fundamental play and hard hitting close to the line of scrimmage. The teams front seven was full of all conference players and the defensive backs could be counted on to punish anyone who was in front of them.
Overshadowed by a record-breaking offense, Buffalo’s defense was also solid in 2020. The Bulls led the Mid-American Conference in total defense (360.4) and ranked second in the league in scoring defense (21.9). UB led the conference in sacks for the second straight year with 20 in a shortened season.
Borland came to UB from Wisconsin-Whitewater where he spent the previous 21 seasons. Since 2002, Borland served as the Warhawks defensive coordinator.
