Buffalo looking to bring in Joe Dailey

One of the names which leaked last week during the Buffalo coaching search was Joe Daily.

It didn’t make a lot of sense for the head coaching position but, as an assistant or coordinator, it seems to be a good fit.

Dailey is currently the wide receivers coach at Boston College. Dailey has ties to Nebraska, Buffalo, and of course Turner Gill.

He played his college ball North Carolina and Nebraska. Dailey completed his collegiate playing career by throwing for 3,458 yards and 26 touchdowns.

After his playing career Dailey got his start in coaching with Turner Gill, in Buffalo. He served as an offensive graduate assistant in 2008 before becoming tight ends coach in 2009.

Dailey spent a year in Kansas with Gill, as a recruiting coordinator and moved on to coach quarterbacks at Bethune-Cookman.

GIll hired him away to Liberty where he served as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. Under his tenure in 2018 Liberty ranked 34th nationally in points per game, averaging 33.3 points per game.

He did a stint in New Mexico, and was later hired by Boston College where he coached wide receivers.
