Freshman outside hitter Milla Malik has been named to the MAC All-Freshman team (update on 4/7/2021: the MAC has revised its All-Conference teams and now Malik is on the Second Team All-MAC, as well as the All-Freshman Team). Malik finished the season averaging 3.77 kills per set and 4.09 points per set, both good for sixth in the MAC.

Malik missed the first six matches of the season due to an illness, but after that, she never left the court, playing all six rotations in all of the sets the remainder of the season. She had a high of 23 kills in one match (a four set match), and 13 straight matches in double figure kills.

She is the first UB volleyball player to be named to the All-Freshman team since 2017 when Andrea Mitrovic earned that honor.

Buffalo has announced the signing of two recruits.

Maria Futey is a 5–10 outside hitter who plays at Padua Franciscan in Parma, OH, which is currently the #3 ranked high school volleyball team in the nation with a 21–1 record. Futey was named First-Team All-State and was on the 2020 pre-season All-American watch list.

Futey will be the third player from Padua Franciscan on the Bulls roster, joining sophomore outside hitter Abby Leigh, and incoming freshman Amanda Leigh, Abby’s sister.

Hannah Jacoby is a 6–0 defensive specialist/outside hitter from Victor, NY (near Rochester) and has received many honors, including Under Armour All-American Watchlist, the AVCA Phenom List, as well as Elite honorable mention Soph 79 by PrepVolleyball.com.
