For the first time since Turner Gill worked for Buffalo the Men’s basketball team’s season ends without a trip to Cleveland. But on the brights side the UB Women won their sixth straight game to secure their spot.
It started with the women..
The Bulls used a huge run in the first quarter, and well into the second to bury Miami. The RedHawks made runs of their own in the second half but were never able to recover from the 30 point deficit. In the end it was an impressive 87-72 victory.
Dyaisha Fair scored 28 points, got five steals, and racked up four rebounds and three assists. Theresa Onwuka finished with 18 points and Hanna Hall chipped in 13 points and five assists on the night.
The men started the night on an 8-0 run but shoddy defense let Miami build up a 10 point lead at the half.
Nike Sibande, who was held in check last week by the Bulls scored 31 points. Despite the deficit the Bulls made it a game, taking the lead mid way through the second. But the offense went cold with about four minutes left and Miami took full advantage.
Milos Jovic made a go-ahead layup with 54 seconds left and the Bulls offense could not do anything from that point.
