The Buffalo Bulls are 0-2 in conference play for the first time since the 2012-2013 season. The first loss was a nail biter at home against Northern Illinois. Tonight Buffalo was completely outclassed by the Ball State Cardinals.
Ball State senior Tahjai Teague had a season-high 25 points as Ball St. and Ishmael El-Amin and Kyle Maller added 11 points apiece.
Buffalo only manged one decent run in the whole game, taking a 16-15 lead about eight minutes in the first half. After that Buffalo’s defense went totally south, Ball State’s shooting heated up, and the Bulls half court offense was not good enough to keep up.
Fifty-two of Buffalo’s points were scored in the paint as the Bulls made only 3 of 18 3-pointers and 5 of 10 free throws. These are both continuing trends for the Bulls who have been shooting rather poorly of late.
In 2012-2013 UB lost their first three conference games, they can try to avoid that same fate when they play at Miami (Ohio) this Friday.
