It was far from a perfect game, but for the first time since UB took on DePaul they showed flashes of what they can really do, and that helped them come back from an early deficit to down Miami, getting their first conference win of the season.

Jayvon Graves had 25 points, and Ronaldo Segu added 16 points and six assists. Two Bulls walked away from Oxford with a double-double as Davonta Jordan scored 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Josh Mballa had 12 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.

Buffalo got solid bench minutes out of Segu and Brock Bertham. Bertham, in his third game back from injury, played 10 minutes and scored four points wile bringing down six rebounds. His presence on the inside also muted Miami’s inside defense and allowed the bulls to challenge the perimeter shots.

Buffalo nearly let Miami back in the game late, missing the front end of two bonus trips to the charity stripe. Isaiah Coleman-Lands of Miami hit a jumper inside the last minute left to Pull Miami to within 2 scores and they would close even more, but Segu hit pay dirt on UB’s final two trips to the line, icing the game.

The next challenge for Buffalo is the game against Ohio.
