Well, last week did a number on our injury report, unfortunately.
Tight End Zac Lefebvre has blossomed into a real threat in the UB offense and appeared to be a reliable safety valve for Matt Myers in the early going, but picked up a leg knock in Happy Valley and was using a crutch on the sideline. That said, the Rochester native is still listed on the two-deep this week.
We mentioned LB Kadofi Wright last week. After an ankle injury during the Robert Morris game, Wright is not listed on the depth chart for Liberty. If rumors of a high ankle sprain are correct, you’d think a few more weeks for the junior.
Punter Evan Finegan suffered a season-ending compound fracture of his tibia and fibula against Penn State. He’s since had a rod placed in his leg and is set to begin rehab. Kyle Vantrease will punt and Dominic Johnson will hold to fill the special teams hole.
On the side of good news, Antonio Nunn returned to action last week despite being left off the two-deep, and had a career day down the field. He’s again listed as WR1 and we expect to see plenty of him Saturday.
Out for the Year
WR Jovany Ruiz had season-ending surgery prior to the Robert Morris game and will wait to 2020 for his first catch in a Buffalo uniform.
