This is going to be quick, which is good. On one hand, we’ll have more information once the season gets going, but of course, we hope the injury report is a quick one every week.
UB doesn’t appear to be in their normal schedule during game week yet, having still posted a camp update this afternoon even with a game on Thursday. Of course, if more injury information appears closer to kickoff, we’ll update here.
Buffalo’s one ding right now is a relatively big one: Wide Receiver Antonio Nunn is dealing with a leg injury and will likely miss the Robert Morris game, at least. Following graduation and transfers, Nunn is UB’s most experienced returning receiver, with 26 catches for 443 yards and 2 touchdowns, both 50+ yards, in two seasons so far in Amherst.
The Bulls figure to be a run-oriented team this year, and especially so against an FCS opponent in Robert Morris, so this likely isn’t anything to worry about yet, but for the sake of the offense later in the season, we certainly hope Nunn can start to develop chemistry with new starter Matt Myers sooner rather than later.
Update, 8/27, noon:
Another WR down, as Jovany Ruiz will have season-ended surgery, per Jonah Bronstein. Ruiz had no catches last year, but was the fourth wide receiver listed in UB’s position group preview earlier this month.
