Early in the MAC season Ohio came to Buffalo, fell way behind, and rallied to beat the Bulls in overtime.
Today in Cleveland Buffalo built up a 21 point lead and completely controlled the tempo of the game until Ohio started to claw back. At one point early in the 4th quarter Ohio had turned UB’s 21 point advantage into a scant eight point lead.
But unlike the first matchup the Bulls steadied themselves and persevered.
Ciearra Dillard was honored as the player of the game but that could have went to anyone in blue.
Hannah Hall was on fire in the first half and finished with 17 points. Summer Hemphill set a MAC record for rebounding with 21 boards en route to her double double.
Wilkins came off the bench and put up 12 points.
Basically it was a total team effort for UB and they won their second title in four years. Now they just need to wait to see where they are going. The bacteriology after Central Michigan had the Bulls as a ten seed heading to Louisville to take on DePaul.
