If Buffalo needed some antiseptic after their disastrous collapse in Kent, Jaret Patterson provided it.

Offense:

The Sophomore back ran for 192 yards and caught three passes for 35 more. In all he found the end zone five times and powered the UB offense as it piled up 331 rushing yard on the Toledo Rockets.

Kevin Marks also came up big, racking up 118 yards on 16 carries, also finding the end zone.

Kyle Vantrease had an efficient game, going 13/20 for 172 yards and a touchdown. He also ran one in.

Defense:

The Buffalo defense was in their best bend but don’t break mode. Some bad special teams plays gave Toledo short fields which they managed to use to come back from 14-0 to tie the game but after that the Bulls Defense held Toledo to three field goals.

After those three drives got the Rockets to within five the defense locked down, keeping Toledo off the board until the very last drive, when both teams were subbing in off the bench.

With the win Buffalo is 6-5 and Bowl Eligible, a win next week against Bowling Green should eliminate any chance that the Bulls get left out like they did in 2017.
