Beer in college athletics is nothing new, but a lot of schools for various reasons have resisted selling alcohol at sporting events.
Well it seems like the UB Athletics department has finally fought through the NY State rules and regulations to make it work. There will be a pilot program to sell beer at UB sporting events.
And it starts tomorrow!
In a continued effort to enhance the fan experience at University at Buffalo athletic events, the school has announced a new pilot program to sell beer at men’s and women’s basketball games this season as well as football games next fall. The school is looking to introduce the program on November 24 when the UB men’s basketball team hosts Marist at Alumni Arena.
The Bulls will be working with Try-It Distributing, a Buffalo area distributor with nearly a 100 year history, to provide a variety of beers at its athletic venues.
Of course this is targetted at fans 21 years or older and will only be available at special vendor kiosks at Alumni Arena.
The Bulls are also partnering with Lyft and ulls fans can receive a $20 ride credit by signing up and using the promo code “GoBuff”.
