NFL teams are allowed to hold a three day rookie mini camp on one of two weekends following the draft. This is a chance for drafted players and the free agents signed after the draft to show the coaching staff the wisdom of their own decisions. The Bills signed 14 free agents in addition to their drafted players.
In addition to free agents the team went out and extend a tryout invitation to RB Shon Carson, DE Michael Keck, LB Jesse Hayes, S Taj Letman, CB Donnell Lewis, LB Chima Uzowhie, and Buffalo's own Joe Licata.
This season the Buffalo Bills have elected to hold their three day camp this weekend. That means today, Friday, Joe Licata is out there running drills.

Licata has the best record of any starting quarterback of the UB modern era. On top of that he the UB career records for yards, touchdowns, completions, among others.
What made Licata so effective at Buffalo was his football IQ and composure in the pocket. He was able, many times, to stand in the pocket and deliver throws to his receivers under duress. While not anywhere near a dual threat quarterback he did show the ability to buy a little time with his feet.
He's not going to physically blow anyone away so that IQ and sound fundamentals need to be on display this weekend if Licata wants to end up in camp
Go Joe!
