Kentucky Wildcats 0 0 3 0 5 0 0 0 0 1 9 11 2

The Bulls took to the field today looking to salvage some dignity against the Kentucky Wildcats. In game one UB's bats managed just a single run and in game two the Wildcats tagged UB for fourteen runs.

Game three saw UB jump out to a big lead but could not hold it as they lost in extra innings.

For the first game of the series it was UB that got up early, and they got up big.

Bobby Sheppard and Ben Haefner started the game with singles and Vinny Mallaro drew a walk to load the bases. A passed ball scored Shepherd and a walk of Chris Wkitzer loaded the bases again.

Abrunzo hit a sacrifice fly to score Haefer, and Ben Vey hit a single to load the bases. Billy Harftod grounded out but scored Mallaro and move the other runners along to second and third. An Andrew Taft double scored Vey and Kwitzer.

Just like that UB socred more runs in the first inning of game three than the Bulls had managed in the series two prior games.

The would grow the lead up to 8-0 in the 3rd inning.

Mike Abrunzo walked to led things off and a Vey single moved him to second. Billy Hartford hit a single that brought in Abrunzo and moved Vey to second. Andrew Taft scored Vey with a single that put Hartford on second.

Alex thrower hit a sacrifice that moved Taft to second and Hartford to third. A throwing error scored Hartford, moved Taft to third and put Sheppard on base. Haefner was hit by a picth to load the bases but unfortunately Mallaro struck out in the next at bat, ending the inning.

UK then started to chip away at the lead. Scoring three runs in their half of the third inning and then adding five more in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game.

And it would stay that way through the 9th inning.

In extra innings UK got runners on first and second and then a drive through the third base side gave the Wildcats the eight run comeback win.

Player of the game

Andrew Taft belted in three RBI's for the Bulls on a 2-4 performance at the plate.
