Buffalo Bulls Baseball 5 Canisius 9

The Bulls played their first game of the year in Western New York and opened up Big4 play

The Bulls wasted no time getting a lead for White. Bobby Sheppard led off the game by drawing a walk. He moved to second on a Ben Haefner ground out and then third on a wild pitch. Mike Abrinzo hit a sac fly to score Sheppard for the second out of the inning.

Before the Bulls' half of the first was over Vinny Mallaro drew a walk and scored on a Chris Kwitzer double.

Andrew White got into trouble early, walking the first two batters he faced. During the first three walks and an error led to thre Griffs runs before White was able to shut the door.

UB evened up the score in the next inning when Haefner hit a clutch two out single to left which brought Alex thrower in from second. and after UB went scoreless in the top of hte third the Griffs jumped all over the Bulls for three runs before chasing White from the game and bringing in Logan Harasta. After adding one more the Griffs 3rd was ended.

The Bulls started to rally in the 8th, scoring two runs to get within 7-5 but Canisus was able to answer with two of their own, keeping the game out of reach.

Next up for the Bulls is conference play! The Bulls travel to Toledo for a three game weekend set versus the Rockets.
