Winnipeg Blue Bombers Defeat Montreal

Coming into this weeks game there were a couple of questions for Winnipeg. How would Drew Willy bounce back after being knocked out of last weeks game? and how would the Blue Bombers defense recover one week removed from an epic beating.

The defense held up their end, scoring the games first touchdown and picking off Rakeem Cato twice. Montreal moved the ball well but the Winnipeg defense seemed in control of the game flow from whistle to whistle.

The Winnipeg offense also moved around a lot between the goal line. However, unlike Montreal the Bombers could not find the end zone through the air or on land. Winnipeg's two touchdowns came off a pick 6 and a blocked punt.

Willy was 20 of 29 passing for 251 yards and carried the ball three times, picking up 28 yards in the process.

The hero of the day for the Bombers was Lirim Hajrullahu, the kicker. He was 4-4 on field goals and one out of two on extra points. His 13 points were the difference in the Bomber's 25-23 victory.
