Buffalo Offensive Lineman Jake Silas to try out with Green Bay

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bulls now have three graduating players trying to make it onto the offensive lines of NFL teams. Defensive lineman Kristian Sokoli was drafted by Seattle in the 6th, shortly after the Seattle times reported that the Hawks are going to give the Albanian Immigrant a go on the offensive line.

Shortly after the draft Trevor Sales got a tryout invitation with Cleveland.

Now Jake Silas will be heading to Green Bay where he will try to earn a spot along fellow UB Alumnus James Stark as a Packer.

Among players coming to Green Bay on a tryout are Alabama quarterback Blake Sims (per ESPN.com), Buffalo offensive lineman Jake Silas, Colorado State-Pueblo defensive lineman Josh Bredl, and BYU defensive back Skye PoVey.

After redshirting his freshman year the 6-7 Silas used the next two seasons as a reservist to learn the system. In 2013 he took over a spot on the starting line and never looked back.

During UB's run to the Potato Bowl Silas started in all 13 and helped pave the way for the fifth ranked rush offense and fourth ranked pass offense in the MAC.

He was named to Phil Steele's All MAC Preseason team and then this past season Silas started all 11 games for UB. After the secon the conference honored Silas as a second team all conference player.
