Forever a Bull - Buffalo Bulls in the NFL and CFL

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Nine Bulls will be roaming the sidelines of NFL and CFL teams this weekend. The only Bull not in action is Drew Willy, who, even if not sidelined with a knee injury, would sit home because Blue Bombers have a bye.

The CFL gets you started (Friday / Saturday)

Kicking off the weekend on Friday night is Natey Adjei. The Argos have already secured a spot in the CFL playoffs but are playing for positioning and a shot at the East Title. The Lions are tied with Montreal for the last playoff spot and Winnipeg is a win back of those teams. I'm not sure how tie breakers in the CFL work but if BC or Montreal wins then the Bombers are not going to the playoffs this year.

Saturday features Naaman Roosevelt and the last place Saskatchewan Roughriders taking on Calgary. The Stampeders can tie Edmonton for the overall league lead with a win. Roosevelt has started to make a name for himself.

Naaman sat on the practice squad for the first half of the year but since he is second in the CFL in yards per reception (20.4) and 15th in touchdown receptions (4).

Sunday In the CFL:

Sunday has a single CFL game of note. Ottawa and Ernest Jackson play Hamilton with first place in the East division on the line.

Sunday In the NFL:

Green Bay puts their undefeated record up against that of the Broncos Sunday Night at 8:30. James Starks has been so effective during the injury to Eddie Lacy that he may have retaken his starting job but in the end he and Lacy could likely end up splitting the load pretty evenly.

Oliver is not getting a ton of time in San Diego but he is getting his chances. The Chargers take on Baltimore at noon.

Khalil Mack and the Oakland Raiders take on the New York Jets as the try keep up in the hunt for a wild card spot. They sit at 7th, a half game behind Pittsburgh for the last AFC playoff spot.

Jake Schum will get his boot on when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to Atlanta. Schum is 18th in the NFL in net punts. More impressively he gives up fewer return yards than any other NFL punter.

Kristjan Sokoli has been dressed for two NFL games so far this year though I have not seen him on the field. He may get a third crack when the Seahawks go to Dallas for a game with the Cowboys.

Monday Night FootBull

When the Colts suit up Monday it will be against Josh Thomas' former squad the Carolina Panthers. Despite not joining the Colts until the end of September Thomas is having a decent year at Indy.
