Bull Run MAC Power Rankings

Buffalo and Kent look a whole lot better today than they did last week.

Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

It may not have come against top level competition Buffalo beat an AAC team and Kent start to come back to form with Dri Archer.  If the Flashes and Bulls begin to pull their own weight the East looks a whole lot more respectable than they did last week.

W5 Team Tier Change Game Comment
1 NIU 1 0 W 55 - 24 at Purdue Statement game by NIU for the pollsters who took points away from the Huskies after their win last week. The Huskies are 2-0 against the Big10 this season.
2 Ball State 1 0 W 31 - 24 vs Toledo Toledo did not make it east for Lembo's legion but in the end the cards were too much for the Rockets. Jahwan Edwards gets the glory of three touchdowns but it was the passing od Keith Wenning that carried the load.
3 Ohio 1 1 Bye During their bye week Ohio may have tuned into the Akron game to get a look at their next foe.
4 Toledo 2 -1 L 31 - 24 at Ball State Tough loss for Toledo. Their red zone turnovers and ten penalties gave the game to Ball State. If Toledo want's to have success against the MAC West the need to clean those up.
5 BGSU 2 0 W 31 - 14 vs Akron It took the Falcons a little bit to get moving but after the slow start Bowling Green ran off 28 straight points.
6 Buffalo 3 0 W 41 - 12 vs UConn Buffalo's defensive front was oppressive as they notched 5 sacks and held the Huskies to less than three yards per carry. There is still a lot of reason to think UB is going to struggle but it was a nice out of conference win.
7 Kent 3 0 W 32 - 14 at WMU Welcome back Dri Archer and look out MAC East because the Flashes are on their way back. Archer still does not look 100% but he is close and that makes Kent many times more dangerous.
8 Akron 3 1 L 31 - 1 4 at BGSU For a while it looked like the Zips were going to play another tight game but Akron's in ability to establish the run let the falcons pull away.
9 Miami 3 -1 L 50 - 14 at Illinois A big improvement over last week for the Hawks offense but the defense gave up more than 600 yards to Illinois.
10 CMU 3 0 L 48 - 14 at NC State Nothing went right for the Chips against NC State. Cooper Rush has not yet become the quarterback CMU needs to get out of the MAC's cellar
11 WMU 4 0 L 32 - 14 vs Kent All Bronco fans can really hold onto here is that WMU hung around well into the 4th. At the 8 minute mark it was 22-14.
12 EMU 4 0 Bye EMU got a good look at their next opponent Buffalo played one of their best games ever under Quinn
13 UMass 5 0 Bye Umass was idle and will next face Bowling Green.
