Junior day is upon us! This Saturday Coach Jeff Quinn and his staff will bring in a bus load of Juniors that the staff hopes will sign on to be the next generation of UB Bulls, maybe some of these players are the one that will return UB to the top of the conference in football.
A small sample of players who will be attending.
A.J. Long - Dual Threat Quarterback
Last season he went 113 out of 185 for 2400 plus yard and 37 touchdowns while throwing just one interception. He ran the ball 87 times for 670 times and 12 touchdowns. He looks like the most complete quarterback recruit since Zach Maynard. In fact from the looks of it Long may easily be more athletic than Maynard.
He has a cupboard full of offers from AQ schools but UB may still be a serious contender. Long is a cousin and former team mate of incoming freshman Boise Ross.
It's not often I will rally for a dual threat Quarterback over a pocket passer but it's pretty likely that Long runs better than our running quarterbacks and throws better than our throwing quarterbacks. Long could be a game changer for Buffalo.
Jojo Gause - Wide Receiver
A six foot four nearly 200 pound wide receiver. Runs a decent 40 and until the Bulls show a lot of depth at receiver UB should keep bringing in guys like this.
Justin Noye - Athlete / Quarterback
Very solid all around athlete that could fit somewhere on the field. Noye is being recruited high up holding offers from Albany, UConn, and Rutgers.
Will Mahar - Kicker
Believe it or not Patrick Clarke will be a Junior next season and man has it been nice having a reliable place kicker the past year and a half.
Mahar has been honored with 1st team All Conference, 1st Team all Area, 2nd team All State and Kohl's Kicking 2nd Team All American for Kick Offs.
Dylan Fernandez - Linebacker / Defensive Back
Versatile guy in the backfield, may be on the small side for a linebacker.
Rayshawn Tiller -Cornerback / Free Safety
A solid two sport athlete who plays in defensive backfield in the fall and track star in the spring.
