Talking Bull : The Badgers Back?

IT was not too long ago that Tyrann Mathieu fulfilled every single pot head stereotype in existence. He even lost a prime spot on a national power because he could not give it up. Now he believes he has a shot at making things right by going to the NFL.

Senior Bowl 2013: Tyrann Mathieu seeks a second chance - SBNation.com
MOBILE, Ala. -- On the first day of Senior Bowl week, where fans and scouts are usually worried about the performance of players on and off the field, it was former LSU junior Tyrann Mathieu who got much of the attention at the South team practice.

I hope that he has his life in line before making the jump because it's not like he will face less temptation when he has an NFL level income.

UB Hockey's special giveaway

Great story on the ACHA main site about how Coach Valvo got it in his head to take a wad of cash from the Blizzard in Buffalo and donate it to homeless vets

American Collegiate Hockey Association powered by GOALLINE.ca
So, with Millard slated to come into town around the holidays, Valvo put the wheels in motion to not only present the alum with his own UB uniform, but to also honor military veterans as a whole on the first day of the Blizzard in Buffalo tournament. The proceeds from the game – easily the largest crowd of the Blizzard tournament – went to support homeless veterans in Western New York. Millard not only walked away from the game on Friday with a new jersey for his collection, but he was also at the center of a pregame ceremony with a color guard and ceremonial puck drop.

Legends of the Hardwood ceremony this weekend

Brenna Doty To Be Honored As A "Legend Of The Hardwood" This Saturday - Buffalo Athletics
Athletics has announced a new "Legends of the Hardwood" series, honoring the greatest men's and women's basketball players at UB. This Saturday, Hall of Fame guard Brenna Doty Rousseau will be honored by having her number #31 honored in Alumni Arena.

So they are honoring a player who was active while I was a UB student as a "Legend"... I've been around that long?

That other Buffalo Hockey Team is 2-0

While the UB Hockey team kicked off the Sabres slumbered, they finally woke up with the rest of the NHL and are now 2-0

Sabres 2, Leafs 1: Immediate Reactions - Die By The Blade
Ryan Miller was the Sabres best player all night, making a number of solid and above-solid saves in a 34-save performance. He was the beneficiary of two posts, and two more goals getting waived off, making for four on the season. That will certainly help the ol' GAA.

Senior Bowl 2013: Ryan Nassib Weighs In; Bills Meet Tyler Wilson - Buffalo Rumblings
We're actively trying to stay out of the nitty gritty detail of the 2013 Senior Bowl - if you're into that sort of thing at this early stage, you should check out SBNation.com's coverage - but there are still a few Buffalo Bills related notes worth pointing out.

The folks over at Rumblings are interested.
