Know your Bulls is a countdown to the kick off. If will look at every single UB football player on the roster. When the players number matches the number of days remaining then it's his turn in the spotlight.
Position: Left Tackle
From: Lockport, NY
Used a red shirt last year, his freshman season.
.Jake Summer has taken the hard road to College Football. The Class B North first team lineman was unable to garner any offers so he walked on with the Bulls.
Summers did not lack for talent or athleticism. Not only was he first team all area but also was an accomplished wrestler and track athlete. Summers main short coming was his height.
In college football It's hard to tell an offensive lineman who measures in under six feet. Most of UB starters are noth of six foot three. Summers, at 5-11, is going to have to make his mark with something other than Bulk.
To that end he spent last summer working with the scout team, a role he will likely repeat this season. Coming out of spring ball Summers' name is not on the depth chart and the Bulls have a pretty deep bench. Summers, still with four years of eligibility, has another season or two in which he can learn to play against FBS sized defensive linemen.
