Know Your Bulls: #77 Gabriel Barbe

Know your Bulls is a countdown to the kick off. If will look at every single UB football player on the roster. When the players number matches the number of days remaining then it's his turn in the spotlight.

Position: Center

From:Montreal, Quebec

Played 10 games as a true freshman.

Barbe is one of several Canadians that have been acquired by Buffalo Coach Jeff Quinn. He came to Buffalo from Cégep du Vieux Montréal du Vieux Montréal, which is a College of General and Vocational Education. While at Cégep du Vieux Montréal he started at offensive tackle.

In both 2009 and 2010 he earned first-team All-Star honors and helped move his team to the Quebec Province Championships in 2009. Before playing for Cégep selected as the Linemen of the Year for College Saint-Sacrament in 2008.

After a spring in which Barbe and the other offensive lienmen helped to cover for injuries to the starters coach Jeff Quinn wasted no time burning Barbe's red shirt. The Freshman saw time in the season opener at Pitt and in nine other games.

Typically Barbe made his impact on special teams but did, on occasion, fill in for Matt Ostrowski as a left Tackle. This year he comes out of spring as the second team center behind Trevor Sales.
