Two more scholarships available

The UB athletic department announced that Romel Dismuke and Ray Anthony Long declared academically ineligible and are no longer with the team.

Dismuke, a transfer from Cincinnati was slated to play Corner for UB this season. He was a three-sport athlete, competing in basketball, football, and track and field. His play on the field earned him a spot in the 2009 Big 33 Football Classic.

He red shirted 2009 with the BearCats and sat out last season per transfer rules.

Long, a redshirt Junior played in nine games, totaling 11 tackles. During his freshman year (2008) he played in in 12 games as a reserve linebacker. The highlight was when he recovered a fumble for a touchdown against Connecticut in the International Bowl for his first career touchdown.

Long did not show up on the depth chart coming out of spring.

Long and Dismuke bring the number of Bulls disqualified in the past week to three. Earlier in the week Dale Stewart, an incoming freshman was declared ineligible by the school and has since went JUCO.

Losing Dismuke is big. The Bulls were already thin at corner and a player of his caliber could have made the transition to a new backfield go a bit smoother than it will otherwise go.
