Selection Sunday : Buffalo Bulls Are the 6 seed of the West

NCAA Basketball: MAC Conference Tournament - Buffalo vs Bowling Green Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bulls were by all rights and measures a four or five seed team.

They finished the year ranked 18th in the AP poll, with the 16th highest NET ranking in the nation. They had a 3-1 record in “quad 1 games” and no terrible losses.

The only question is what was the committee going to do to Buffalo because the program plays in “mid-major” conference.

Well they decided to slate UB as a 6 seed, not a terrible see but it is probably a slight under-seeding.

As a six seed the Bulls will start things off in Tulsa where they face the winner of a Dayton play in game between Bobby Hurley’s ASU and Saint Johns.

If they get past that, and they want to play in the sweet 16, they will need to beat the winner of the Texas Tech and Northern Kentucky game.
