Bulls overcome a slow start to down EMU 74-58

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-Buffalo vs Kentucky Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

EMU’s defense started the game hot, and the Eagles interior controlled the boards in the early going. But the Bulls were able to get things going and they finished their first conference game of the season with a 16 point win.

Neither team shot well to start the game but the Eagles control of the boards was the early difference maker are the EMU crawled out to a 5-2 lead at the first TV break. It took UB more than three minutes to score before a Jeremy Harris jumper got them on the board.

Montell McRae really carried the offense in the first half. His back to back dunks followed by a three point shot gave UB their first lead. He followed that up with another three point shot and a jumper extended a lead that the Bulls would not surrender.

A CJ Massinburg three point shot sent the Bulls into the half up 10.

In the second UB would grow the lead to over 20 points in the first ten minutes and from there kind of coasted the rest of the game.

UB’s next game is Tuesday versus Toledo.
